Funny that this lawyer is Ok with transferring H-1b, but does not want to accept an EAD. .
It's obvious. This lawyer wants to make money for applying H1-b (transfer ~ $5000 typically). If you use EAD he gets zilch.:D:D:D:D:D:D

Can any one tell the time between check cleared and Notice issued. My lawyer sent the checks and he will never bother checking his account daily for me. Hence Notice is the only thing i will get.
Same thing here. Even the notice will go to the lawyer's office and they won't bother telling me unless asked a few times.
Other than the physical notice, I guess we can get the receipt numbers by calling them once we see a substantial number of members getting the numbers/notices.

i think most of vermont transferred applications are getting it.
i will also send color copies of all the documents mentined by you.
how do you have i 94 for all h1's. i just have my current one. rest all i gave it to immigration while departing to india.

i called the bank too and they cant read the check neither..i can see a number starting with ent only....where in the checkexactly do we look for the receipt number.

Yes you can fedex the AP to india and yes she can use it while coming back if needed. I got this from USCIS level 2 immigration officer.:D

Just heard this from my friend. His case is exactly the same (I140-NSC approved, July 2nd 9:01 R.Mickels filer). His got transferred to Texas and got receipts last week. No EAD's yet. Got receipt for FP date today.

You can file 485 with either of the I140 as long as the position is open and the companies provide a letter stating the permanant nature of the job.
For interfiling, one can request the priority date porting in any of these:
- when you file the 2nd I140. You can send a copy of the first one and request to use that date.
- when you file the 485, you can request to use the earlier priority date.
- After you file 485, you can send a request to use the earlier priority date.
In all these, you need a copy of the I140 approval notice. If there is no way to get the copy, you can possibly try with a copy of the receipt or a copy of the approval status from online - check with a lawyer.

I am not sure why you all are all so worried about finger printing. No one is getting their GC anytime soon. PD for both EB2 and EB3 is either unavailable or in 2001. Even if FP takes a little while, don't worry.
I have a friend who never got finger printed till he got his GC. So relax.

You may get your green card with out giving a new set of finger prints. Sometimes, you will get the green card first and then they ask you to give the finger prints if necessary.

So, folks who have an advanced degree from the US are exempt from the cap? Or advanced degree plus 3 yrs of work exp is required?

Was the threat or intimidation verbal or do you have any paper trail. This can go both ways as the company's have a right to protect their intellectual property and on the same was that non compete legal (meaning if you challenge that in the court, can the judge say yes this needs 5 years of non compete).
Take the non compete and any paper trail about the termination to an HR attorney ASAP. Also see whether any of your colleagues were impacted and go for a class action.

My H1B expired, and they are now just working on the labor certification process, so I have left the country and working outside the US. Someone did tell me that after I have been out for a 12 month period they may get me back under a new H1B. Is this correct? Reason I ask is that I have been out of the US for 4 months, and they seem to be working very slow on my Labor Cert, and I know once the this is submitted I have to wait a further 12 months, so wanted to see if it is viable to get a new H1B. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Yes if you live out of US for at least a year after the full H-1B term, you can apply for a new H-1B. If i were you, i'll keep the labor process going while applying for a new H-1 because GC is for future employment and if anything you can retain the priority date...

Thanks. there is hope. I paper files too and included self paid return envelope. Was yours renewal or fresh? Mine is fresh.Paper filed AP in TSC on Oct 28th 2009 & received the document on Dec 24th 2009 by mail.

I find that fireworks mx is really cool for doing what you are trying to do if you can get your hands on it. Oh yeah and I think you should antialias the text a little bit. If you want honest opinions....I think the image could use a little jazzing up....Try this:
Find a nice big panoramic image like of a beach or something.. Then give it a real big gaussian blur (so that you cannt recoginze what it was)......U should already notice it looks similar to a gradient. 2. The give it a strong motion blur to the left or right (to soften the image) 3. Then do a an adjustment...hue.....and play with the saturation and settings. (You should have a pretty nice gradient looking abstract at this point). 4. Then duplicate the layer and play with that layers blend mode. I find luminosity to be cool but find one to suit your needs. That will make your text and image seem more interesting....right now it looks kinda dead in the water......I find gradients by themselves to be boring this day in age (most of the time). Let me know if you need a more indepth tutorial....this one was kinda weak but....hey
